New Century International Elementary School & West Regional Branch Library is the first use of Firstfloor's new "green" prototype system, Dragonfly™.
Dragonfly™ utilizes the most efficient technology available and is among an elite group of building designs worldwide to provide more energy than it consumes. The design prototype includes green features such as rainwater collections, geothermal A/C and solar photovoltaic
power systems, as well as layout flexibility and acoustics that comply with American National Standards Institutes standards. The Dragonfly™ design represents a sustainable, state-of-the-art and cost-effective approach to building K-12 public school facilities. This 800 student capacity (920 core capacity) building has been designed to LEED platinum standards and is one of only 11 schools nationwide that earn an Energy Star Rating of 99 or better.
