The new facility’s design accommodates the current student enrollment capacity for 4th and 5th grades and the 6th grade will be relocated to the Hertford County Middle School. The new facility has an enrollment capacity of 390 students with core capacities for the cafeteria, media center, and multipurpose rooms for 580 students. The new elementary school construction is a two-story building at 54,500 square foot facility. The interior finishes are painted concrete masonry units (CMU), gypsum board on metal studs, acoustical tile ceilings, VCT flooring, aluminum windows with insulated glass, and hollow metal door frames and wood doors.
The Ahoskie ES Auditorium project includes a $3 million addition to the elementary school facility with 380 seats for school and community use.
