Project Description
The new Hobbton High School is a state-of-the-art, two-story campus of approximately 119,000 square feet, designed to serve about 600 students in Sampson County. This major project replaces an outdated 1957-era facility to meet the district’s long-term educational needs with a modern, future-ready environment. Supported by a $62 million state grant, construction is set to break ground in 2026 and open to students by August 2028. The school will offer a full range of academic, athletic, and career-focused amenities on a new site – from flexible classrooms and science labs to a full-size gymnasium and a 375-seat auditorium – all within a secure, adaptable facility. Specialized Career and Technical Education (CTE) suites for health sciences, emergency services, and agriculture will support workforce readiness programs, while core learning areas (including a media center and collaborative commons) are organized to encourage both independent study and group collaboration.
